Bella Small

My name is Bella and I am DVN veterinary nurse. Outside of nursing and caring for your pets you’ll find me on a horse competing up and down the country in the dressage ring.

Michelle Hunt
Dip VN

A new addition to the team at Takanini Michelle is a part time senior nurse. She has been qualified since 2008 and enjoys the medical side of veterinary nursing, such as taking blood, placing IV catheters and filling prescriptions. Michelle enjoys participating in Polo, making beautiful candles, yoga as well as spending time with family and friends, having a good glass or two of wine.

Monique Bowers

Monique has been in the industry for around around 10 years, mostly as a emergency & critical care nurse, who joined the team at Takanini as the Head Nurse late 2023. She is a bit of a nutrition nerd as well taking pride in implementing a high standard of patient care. Definitely a winter person Monique loves nothing more than a good thunderstorm outside whilst being curled on the couch up with a glass of wine, a good book or a true crime docuseries.

Emma Polglase
Dip VN

Junior nurse Emma graduated in 2023 and then joined the Takanini Team not long after. Her passion lies with caring for neonates as well as preforming puppy and kitten consults with clients. Out of work Emma enjoys hanging out with friends and family as well as going for walks with her pets.

Mila
D.O.G.

The clinic dog Mila belongs to the Head Nurse Monique. She is a young miniature schnauzer, who enjoys doing rounds around the clinic all day - making sure everyone is working, having naps and getting sneaky treats off her BFF Aimee. Her special interests lie in cuddles, greeting clients and guarding the cat cages, keeping our feline patients safe. When not at work Mila can be found lazing in the sun or chasing the chickens.
