Pre purchase examinations

A thorough nose to tail examination performed in either a 2 stage (partial) examination or a 5 stage (complete) examination undertaken in the following steps:

Stage1: Preliminary Examination (Assessment at rest of eyes, heart, lungs, skin, teeth, legs and feet, musculature, back etc.)

Stage2: Examination during walking, trotting, turning and backing.

Stage3: Examination during and immediately after strenuous exercise.

Stage4: Examination in period after exercise.

Stage5: Examination during walking, trotting, turning and backing.

Further diagnostics such as radiography, ultrasonography and endoscopy can also be performed if required.

Dentistry

Routine dentistry is essential to your horse- we recommend once a year or more frequently for young or old horses or for horses with problem mouths. Sedation and use of power tools ensures that a complete examination and all necessary corrections are performed. Wolf teeth and other extractions can also be performed.

Vaccinations

We routinely recommend vaccinating for tetanus and strangles, we may also recommend Equine Herpes Virus. Speak to us to create a vaccination protocol suitable for your horse.

Routine Callouts

We are available for emergency and routine callouts for example colic, lacerations, eye issues, unwell horses, laminitis, blood tests, wounds, sarcoids etc.

Imaging

Tendon scanning, digital radiography available either at the clinic or at your property, pregnancy scanning, gastroscopy (when available).

Surgery

Castrations, lump removals, enucleations, wounds etc.

Respiratory Investigations

Including endoscopy, bronchoalveolar lavage and tracheal wash.

Lameness and Poor Performance Investigation

Nerve or joint blocks and imaging to establish what the problem is in your horse.
